When you're feeling lost

We all feel lost at a certain stage in our life or should I say at multiple stages through our lifetime.
This feeling of being lost is normal and part of our growth. Not only do these trying times strengthen us but they also help us make discoveries about ourselves that aid in making  us unstoppable in the long run.

I have felt lost multiple times in my life and it's not the best feeling in the world, however, deep down, I have always believed that these situations were laying the groundwork for my upcoming accomplishments. It is of utmost importance that we remain hopeful in difficult times because hope might just be the oxygen we need to breathe through such situations. My life experiences have molded my mind to never lose hope in unfavorable circumstances.  Experience is the best teacher.

Here are some practical ways that have helped me overcome such challenging times :

1. You'll likely panic a little at first and it will be uncomfortable, therefore it is important that you acknowledge the new reality you are in. Do your best to adapt and stay calm as much as possible- even if you feel restless. Try and make a conscious effort to progress. Progression through stages of discomfort will help you overcome a situation.  Brainstorm ideas and if needed get some help from friends and family to come up with ideas that will help you reanalyze the situation and breakout of it.

Note: if you're having challenges sleeping at night or not getting enough sleep due to this state of mind, wake up in the early hours of the morning or in middle of the night and journal all your feelings, focus on your breathing and remind yourself that as long as you're breathing, you as a human can overcome any obstacles in your path.

2. Do not forget to eat food and drink water  because you need good energy to problem solve. Decreased energy may likely cause you to feel low hence it is imperative that you fuel up and stay hydrated.

3. Record a short video of yourself talking (video journaling) while going through that difficult stage as that could alone be a very powerful tool in your arsenal. not only will it ground you to reality, but as I said earlier you will most likely discover some amazing new things about you, that will further help you feel better and strengthened as you go.

So take heart and continue to be courageous. You have got this, You can do it and You are enough!
